Start ups are the pioneers of new edges of growth and prosperity. However, had there not been wealthy investors in the form of venture capital no Startup could grow and form a real operating business. A richly connected network of founders, venture capital firms, and tech talent are some of the key ingredients driving a startup ecosystem. 

Visual Capitalist has ranked the hub cities for startups. The United States and China are the major players. Among 20 hotspots of Startups, 9 cities are located inside the United States and five cities inside China. 

Within the United States, the first rank belongs to San Francisco. The city has surpassed New York and even Silicon Valley in Los Angeles. Over the last six years, San Francisco around 20,000 Startups were successful in attracting investors. Venture capitals have totally invested $ 427 billion on the Startups located in San Francisco. The Exit value for these Startups were close to $ 766 billion. 

The next two cities after San Francisco are New York in the United States and Beijing in china. Beijing is home to TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, which is one of the most valuable private companies in the world.

Apart from the United States and China. The hot spots for Startup business include London in Britain, Seoul in Korea, Tokyo in Japan, Singapure, Tel Aviv and Berlin in Germany.

Singapore has the highest venture capital funding per capita worldwide. In 2023, this was equal to an impressive $1,060 in venture funding per person. By comparison, venture funding was $345 per person in the U.S., the second-highest globally.
